This type of fume extractor has a few design flaws, and that's why the suction is not that great and it makes more noise. If you look carefully, the opening in the lid where the hose is attached has no space between the lid and pre-filter. So the air can only pass the pre-filter the size of the hose, and not the entire surface of the pre-filter. If you take the lid off , and power it on, the noise will be much lower, because the air can flow through the entire filter surface. The same problem under the active carbon filter, that filter is also to close to the intake of the fan, and the entire surface can't be used. In short, the lid is already restricting the air flow without the hose connected due the lack of space in the height. If the lid was 2 centimeters (1 inch) away from the pre-filter, and that exact same distance between the active carbon filter and the fan intake, this extractor worked guranteed much better then it is now.
I just ordered this unit from Union Repair on the strength of your review. There is a hefty shipping charge but after looking at other comparable units, this one looks best. Best of luck and thank you!
@@Ri-eb1ns I got the unit. As a portable system, I feel it is very underpowered for its size, but the hose and the filtering system is worth the money. I need some solder time with it …
@@joesipaq I was thinking about that too. If I may ask, What type of fan and hose are you using for that? Does the fan need to be a very strong one? Or does it simply work with a normal "bathroom type of fan" Thank you for your time.
@@VCCBoardRepairs By the way I’m super interested to know how you learned how to repair iPhone logic boards and how long it took you. I’m 26 and I just got into this field and am really excited, currently taking Rewa iPhone logicboard repair courses

Oh man. good observation. it's definitely not the best one on the market.

Did you get it yet?
@@Ri-eb1ns should be here tomorrow … I hope it includes the wide opening attachment like in this video …

@@SpyStaMia Cool, Nice of you to respond with feedback. Feel free to update after soldering with it.,.
@@SpyStaMia Hi mate, I have a chance to buy one of these a bit cheaper, could you tell me now that its been 2 weeks is it any good?
Louis Rossman told me to subscribe your chanel, so here i am, and its amazing
Wow thank you!
Yoooooo my fav RUclipsr!!!
Omg is this the real Profixerr commenting??? 😱😱😱🤯🤯🤯
I have wanted that board holder for a while!
Oh and the fume extractor is neat too. I have a DIY one, goes directly outside and the motor is outside also. #nosound
oooo nice. that works too!

Thank you for your time.
Can the fan be replaced with a 200mm pwm noctua fan?
No idea
what is the decible rating at the lowest and highest setting?
I'm not sure. I never checked that
Have you tried the Kotto fume extractor? Wonder how it compares
I haven't unfortunately
I got one and I don’t think it’s the best for catching smoke honestly
Can it collector dust
Sure, I don't see why not
4:51 it seems like you are soldering inside fume extractor :D try to use it in real conditions like 50cm away or 30cm
you definitely need to keep it close to your working area to get good fume extraction.
How long did it take for those items to arrive ?
Union Repair ships pretty fast. Shipping time is only about 3-4 Day via DHL to Las Vegas, NV from China.
@@VCCBoardRepairs Damn ha ha that’s really fast so it means it could take less time where I live ha ha
haha maybe!

I learned mostly from youtube, facebook microsoldering groups & lots of trial and error.
I already have one ☝️ 😊
ive read the reviews and they are horrible, alot of people saying it has VERY poor suction
Oh wow. That's crazy
Sounds loud
Yes but it's not that bad
weak traction
it's not too bad
